Technoport Awards
The Technoport Awards show will be held at Trondheims Grand Concert Hall Olavshallen on the evening of the 17th of April. In addition to the five award categories presented last year we will award the first Gunnerus Sustainability Award in cooperation with The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters and Hydro Green Aluminium Award in cooperation with Hydro.
Technoport Awards 2012 will be held during Technoport 2012 – Sharing Possibilities, on the evening of April 17th. Tickets are available from Billettservice.
Hydro Green Aluminium Award
The Hydro Green Aluminium Award will be given to students or researchers who has contributed to more sustainable production or new aluminum products that will significantly benefit the climate. The Award is of $35,000 USD, and the deadline for submissions is February 20th. Read more at Hydro’s website.
Gunnerus Sustainability Award
The Gunnerus Sustainability Award is given to a scientist or shared between two or three, whose research is judged to have a distinct impact towards the sustainability of global biodiversity. The 2012 Award is of 1 million NOK, and is awarded by The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters in cooperation with Technoport.

Background
In 2005, Technoport paid tribute to groundbreaking scientists and innovators for the first time. Since then, more than 35 individuals and organizations that have paved the way for a greener economy through new technology have received honour and monetary rewards.
The award ceremony itself is an evening dedicated to celebrating new ideas and new possibilities intertwined with musical acts from the musical stars of tomorrow. Previous years have included performances by artists such as Susanne Sundfør, Jarle Bernhoft, Ida Jenshus, Bel Canto, Hellsongs, Ola Kvernberg, Salem Al Fakir, Thom Hell and Nora Noor.
